Quote Me: Don't Sell Your Work. Sell Your Passion.

“Hire people who play at what you work at.”
- John Assaraf

I see that quote posted a lot in the Twitterverse. And I don't see it as just another catchy slogan from some life-business guru. This makes total sense when shaping your creative career.

When people look at your portfolio, what does it say about you? You write well... You have a good sense of design... You've won a few awards...

Does it say you love this business? Does it say that you'll take on ANY creative challenge and kick its ass? And do you show that same enthusiasm for EVERY project, even something as small as a coupon offer?

That's the creative agencies want. That's the creative clients want on their business.

Egos are a turn-off. Enthusiasm is infectious.

Don't Sell Your Work. Sell Your Passion.

Feel free to tweet that. I'd appreciate the credit.
